Our weight training areas have a combination of selectorised and plate loaded equipment coupled with dumbbells and barbells that you use in conjunction with various benches. Weight training is done to increase muscle mass and strength but can also be used to sculpt and tone existing muscle mass. Weight training improves your posture, balance and coordination, reduces the risk of diabetes in adults, strengthens your bones which helps to reduce the risk of osteoporosis and in some cases can reverse the natural decline of your metabolic rate. Building muscle is very important for our bodies, especially as we age. After the age of 30, our metabolosim starts slowing down, which is accompanied by muscle decline, increasing the likeliness of weight gain. This also increases the likeliness of health issues. Weight training perfectly provides you with the platform to build muscle.

Although many believe that building muscle is an act of vanity, studies has shown that weight training has a possitive affect the building of new bones and limiting bone loss. It also helps reduce the risk of osteoporosis.
