The Perfect Morning Snack

Overnight oats is the perfect solution to your problem and yes, we know the thought of bland cold oats can hardly motivate you to get out of bed, but hear us out…We found a delicious, quick, and most importantly, healthy overnight oats recipe that will get you up and going in no-time!

Ingredients:

A third cup of Traditional Oats (stay away from instant oats- it will just cause a wholly mushy mess)

A teaspoon cinnamon

A tablespoon almond butter

Half a cup full cream milk (if you use fat-free or 2% milk, use a bit more)

Half a cup frozen berries of your choice

A Tablespoon of Chia seeds (optional)

A teaspoon honey

 

Recipe:

In a mason jar, combine oats, chia seeds, and almond butter. Add the milk and mix well.

Top this mixture off with your fruit and place a lid on your jar.

Place your jar in the fridge and leave overnight.

*This mixture can be stored for up to 5 days

Parmesan Cheese Crisps:

Ingredients:

1 cup grated parmesan cheese

Dried basil

 

Method:

Preheat your oven to 180 degrees.

Line a baking tray with parchment paper and place spoon filled piles of parmesan on the paper.

Flatten the Parmesan piles with the back of the spoon and sprinkle dried basil over the flattened piles.

Bake for 5 to 7 minutes or until the edges turned golden brown.

The Banana Bread Trend

It seems like the whole of South Africa has been baking banana bread- and for good reason! Bananas are such a good source of energy, so it’s the perfect option for those who want to dabble in the art of breadmaking. Check out our delicious low carb, low sugar, gluten-free Banana Bread. This recipe is also perfect for those who are on the Banting diet.

What you will need:

3 Ripe bananas

1 Tbsp honey

1 Tbsp Vanilla extract

3 Large eggs

A Pinch of Cinnamon

A pinch of salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

Half a cup coconut oil

3 teaspoons melted butter

2 cups of flaxseed flour

Half a cup of Xylitol or Stevia

What to do:

Preheat the oven to 180°C

  • Crush the Bananas till a pulp and place in a bowl
  • Add the eggs, vanilla, honey, xylitol, butter and oil, and blend everything together
  • Add in the flour, salt, as well as the baking soda
  • Grease a bread baking pan and add the mixture to the pan
  • Bake for 40 minutes, or until cooked through
